Debie Deschaine Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator

You deserve some time to create and rejuvenate!

November 16th, 2018

The Stampin’ Up! bi-annual conference; Onstage is the best time ever! There are so many highlights, like these cute Make & Takes we made. As you can see, we have some nice looking “Men” products coming in January, (sooner if you’re a demo!). I think you’re going to really like the new catalogs and want it all, like me! All the products used to make these projects are available for Onstage attendees to purchase this week. I LOVE being a demo!M&TakesCollage

What girl can have enough bags? Not me…I can always use a new bag! The striped fold up bag is so cute, perfect to have in the car.

The little tool bag is awesome, it’ll be great when I’m on the go. Whether its a short 15-20 minute drive or a longer hour or more drive, I like to have something to work on, while my husband drives. It’s surprising how much crafting you can do in a moving vehicle.

The canvas bag came out of the fancy box, (the inside of the box is like the striped bag) along with some pens and cute little notepads, all the Onstage literature, a stamp set & Make and Take Kit, prize patrol pins, name tag…which is like a travel wallet that hangs around your neck…so cool and fun to get so many fun things!

The striped bag and the tool kit holder were “Prize Patrols” and all the stuff in the collage below was Prize Patrol Goodies! Every attendee gets a pin with a number on it, 1-8, when your number is called…with much cheering and loud music…you stand and get your prize! The gingham dsp, tool kit, striped bag and one of the stamp sets was a Prize Patrol for everyone!

More fun things to announce in the coming weeks…be sure and check back soon!

We got some exciting news, (scroll to the bottom for the news), from SU! this past weekend at Onstage, not to mention all the Prize Patrols they gave us…like, beautiful new stamp sets from the Occasions and Sale-A-Bration catalogs (coming to you in January 2019), some dsp and a few other fun goodies…come back to my blog Friday and see some of the fun stuff we got!  Another perk of going to Onstage is that the attendees get to pre-order 2 weeks before the normal Demonstrator Pre-Order, (a month before customers can order). My order came in yesterday…so I’ll be posting projects, with new products very soon!os2018Collage     My swap  card is the top right hand corner card in the above collage.  All of these cards and projects were swaps from other Demonstrators on Wendy’s team, and a couple of gifts from Wendy. This is such a fun part of the weekend! It’s so fun to see each others creativity! I love sharing my beloved hobby with 6000…yep, there were 6K of us in Orlando…other people that love to do what I do, as much as I do!!os18Collage

Be sure and come back Friday to see Stampin’ Up!’s generosity to their Demonstrators!

Oh yeah…the news…that I am super happy about…do you ever have trouble with your Clear-Mount Stamps not sticking to the block? Stamping up has been working on this for awhile and they finally did it…we now have “Cling Stamp Sets” that do just what the name says…they cling! In fact, you’ll want to be careful peeling them off of the clear blocks when you’re done stamping. We will no longer carry the Clear Mount or Wood Stamp sets…starting with the new Annual Catalog June 2019.

And next year, plan on going to Onstage with me!! It really is so much fun!!

November 12th, 2018,

This was a fun Craft Fair, the local Rotary Club sponsored it. All the proceeds are headed to the local After School Programs. I can certainly stand behind that!

Take note of the couple in the picture at the lower right hand corner. What a sweet couple! I chatted with them for a bit on one of my early rounds to all the booths. They were just so happy go lucky! He was sweetly teasing her and she responded with smiles and adoring eyes. It was plain to see how much affection they had for each other.

There was Christmas music playing most of the day,  near the end of the day, to my complete delight…my favorite couple were dancing. And dancing well, with graceful, fluid movement, I might add. I just couldn’t help myself, I had to applaud when the song ended, yep, with tears in my eyes. They sat back down for a bit…but they obviously couldn’t resist the music and were up dancing again in very short order! This time when they were done, the room erupted in clapping and appreciation for the privilege of witnessing such a tender scene.  To me, they represent all the happily married couples dream…to grow old gracefully with our best friend, our partner for life. I hope my husband and I will be that couple, that is still healthy and continuing to love life and each other…spry, enough so as not to betray our numbers of years here in our temporary home…and enjoying each moment…together.

As you are reading this, I am in Orlando, Florida for the Stampin’ Up! 30 Year Anniversary, Onstage Convention!!! I just can’t tell you how fun and exciting it is…and all the “stuff” we’re getting!!! I will have to do a blog post to show you all what I got! In the meantime, I’ll share a little about what I’ve been doing with my business this past weekend and 3 more weekends in November.

This is my first Holiday Craft Fair “Season”.  You have probably guessed that the man sitting there in the blue t-shirt is my incredibly supportive and sweet hubby! I’m so blessed!! He surprises me how much he remembers about my hobby/business, because other than wanting to support me, he has zero interest in stamping, lol!  You should hear him talk to the people that come to our booth. He tells them all about my classes and gives them all kinds of product info! I love it!!holly Days VV2018 Collage

So, I have attended many a Craft Fair as a patron and LOVE, LOVE them!! There is so much creativity to see! However, I never thought that I would actually want to be a vendor at one of these events…I thought…B-o-r-i-n-g. It’s the exact opposite!! All day long we get to meet and visit with so many people! There’s also a very friendly camaraderie amongst all the vendors.  We have been loving it! I get to show people the craft that I love and meet people that either love card making too, or people that are being introduced to it for the first time and some people stop by just to appreciate your work.  Four women signed up for my November class, which I’m excited about!! They all seemed like very nice women and I’m looking forward to getting to know them!

Until next time, give yourself a little creative therapy time!

luv Deb

This weeks Product Spotlight: Painted Glass Bundle & Illuminated Christmas Stamp Set

If I’ve said it a million times, before…I’ll say it a million more…I LOVE all the design and color coordination with Stampin’ Up! products!!! It makes it so much more fun to have all the right colors and designs to create with, without interruption or frustration…you don’t have to stop what you’re doing to scour the craft store aisles…or nowadays, scouring the internet…shopping is easy and pleasant! Coordinating products…check! More time to create…check!1A WMIC Collage

This is one of the card choices available for my November 13th Card Buffet. I loved painting the Vegas Gold Shimmer Paint onto the Wise men…it’s such a nice touch I think. TIP: I used an Aqua Painter with no water in it. For me, it watered it down too much. I had to keep dabbing the water off of the brush, which was a bit of a pain.

Here are some “How to’s” on putting this card together.

This weeks Product Spotlight: Painted Glass and Illuminated Christmas

I finally got a chance to play with this set…the Painted Glass Bundle. One of the fun things about this set is that it co-ordinates with one of the stamp sets in this years Holiday Catalog. I’ll be posting a card Wednesday that combines the two sets.

1A _WM

Some “how to” hints…

It’s really hard to see in these pictures, but I stamped the rose all along each of the edges of the Night of Navy mat…framing the smoky slate textured mat. I used Night of Navy ink to stamp the roses.

The sentiment is heat embossed. I used adhesive sheets for the beautiful black frames…it is so much easier and way less messy than liquid glue. I used the Gold Shimmer Paint from the Holiday catalog to paint the rose after I had used the Classic Markers to color it. Love that bit of sparkle!

I used Stampin’ Dimensionals to raise both of the square elements of the card. I’m super happy with how it turned out…well, it took a couple of days…I wasn’t sure if I really liked it at first! How about you, what do you think of this card?

Scroll down if you’d like to check out details and/or to purchase the products I used in making this card.

This weeks product spotlight: Dashing Deer

This is my favorite deer stamp and thinlit from this bundle. I never tire of a Damask pattern…never ever…I can see this deer in every one of the SU! colors and it would be GORGEOUS! He’s so Majestic…that’s the perfect word for this beautiful image.

1 A Friday WM Collage

I stacked the deer, like I did on my 10/31 post…click HERE to see more details on that technique.

Here’s the measurements:

  1. It is a standard 5 1/2″ X 8 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″ piece of Tranquil Tide Card Stock.
  2. The Sahara Sand mat for the dsp is 4 5/8″ X 3 5/8″
  3. The dsp is Joyous Noel from the Holiday Catalog and it measures: 4 1/2″ X 3 1/2″
  4. The mat under the reindeer is 3 5/8″ X 2 3/4″ and is stamped with Sahara Sand.
  5. The deer is stamped in Merry Merlot, double stacked, and adhered with Stampin’ Dimensional mini’s.

On another note…this is my first “Craft Fair Season”. I’ve done some Vendor events this past year but never any Holiday Season Craft Fairs. I found a couple used card racks, that needed a little love, for a good price. What do you think? If you saw them in person, you would see all the rust spots and chips that were there before we painted the racks…they look 100 times better now!
