Stamp Set Spotlight this week: Feathers & Frost

My first time through the 2018 Holiday Catalog I noticed this cute stamp set.  I didn’t realize it was a Christmas set until I went through the catalog a second time and noticed the sentiments.  It could easily be used for any season, the leaves could be colored for the appropriate season, the birds too, Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall.

There’s lots a Holiday Catalog stuff on this card…Joyous Noel Glimmer Paper p. 29, Festive Farmhouse Cotton Twine p. 13, All Is Bright Paper Clips p. 6, Tin Tile embossing folder p. 43 and of course the stamp set Feathers & Frost p. 30.

I can’t get enough of this butterfly, there’s so many techniques you can do with it!! For example, to get a similar watercolor look, like you see on this card, there are several ways to do it. You could use a sponge dauber to dab whatever ink colors you want on the butterfly stamp, spritz

with water then stamp. Two, using refill bottles of ink, you could use a baby wipe as an “ink pad”.  Just drip drops of different inks all over the baby wipe, then stamp the butterfly on the baby wipe to pick up the ink, spritz with water and stamp your card stock. Or, you can do what I did.  I sprinkled Brusho on the dry butterfly stamp, spritzed with water then stamped. Any way you choose, you’ll come out with a unique image each and every time!

September 12th, 2018,

Had some more fun with Brusho! I made this card for a friend awhile back but hadn’t posted it yet. I love the Emboss Resist technique, this stamp set, Beautiful Day is perfect for it. These glitter enamel dots are now retired but we do have some new beautiful colors! You can check them out in the Annual Catalog on page 197.

Isn’t this ribbon the cutest?! Love it. The technique I used here is Emboss Resist and Brusho Crystal Colour.  First I heat embossed the butterfly with white embossing powder.

Then it was ready for Brusho, you can do this technique a couple ways, one, spray water on the water color paper then sprinkle Brusho Crystals on it.

You can also do the opposite, sprinkle the crystals then spray with water. If it’s too wet you can dab water off with a papertowel or cloth. If not wet enough, just spray more water.

These are the basic ways to use Brusho Crystals:

Surprise!! More purple!! And paired again with that Gorgeous Granny Apple Green…YUM!! If you scroll down I’ll show you how I stamped the words and the image seperate from each other. I’m thinking this card could be used for getting well wishes, I miss you, I love you or even Valentines Day!

Which method I use to partially ink a stamp usually depends on these two things, one the image shape and where I want it inked and two, how dark I want the ink to be.
