Debie Deschaine Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator

Creating Greeting Cards & Paper Projects with Love!

July 16th, 2018,

Most of my uplines team live out of her area, so she had never held a team event before. She just held her first Team only event a few weeks ago. It was SO FUN!!! You would’ve loved it!! Here’s some photos of the projects we did. The red box, in the lower right two photos, hold color inspiration for us…love this gift! I don’t know if you can see it but there’s a lemonade packet in the cup with a lemon! I LOVE it, it’s so cute!!

These are most of the swaps. Aren’t they awesome! They’re all so cute!!

One of the best things about being a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator is meeting other crafty women and becoming friends.  Of course we have paper crafting in common, which makes for an instant connection sometimes. The community of women my upline has created and my growing community of paper crafters, isn’t just about paper crafting.  It’s about supportive and caring relationships. Recently my husband was diagnosed with lymphoma and the love and concern we continue to receive from the Demonstrator community (most of which I haven’t met face to face), not to mention long-time friends and family, was so genuine and heart warming. We received a ton of cards with sweet notes of encouragement, love and concern. Along with our long term friends and family, many prayers were and are being said for my husband. I’m so very grateful for all the new friendships I have through my hobby and business of stamping, they enrich my life further!

I am happy to report, my husbands cancer is so slow moving, they don’t have to treat it at this point. In fact the risk of further cancer that goes with treatment is higher than the risk of this cancer itself!! Wow, never considered him not having to be treated. Further more, he will have a CT scan approximately every 6 months for the rest of his life. The Doctor didn’t want to wait 6 months for the first scan and did one at 3 months…well…again, not at all expecting it, my husbands cancer has shrunk!!!!!!! No treatment and it has shrunk…personally, I think it’s a God-thing! We did change our diet according to some medical studies, to a vegan plan and I believe this has a lot to do with it too. We anticipate his diabetes being under better control and being able to go off some or even all of the meds he takes because of the diabetes. I’m thinking God allowed Brian to have cancer…to save his life!

Thank you to all of you that have been praying for my husband and all your encouragement and love.

What a fun and flashy suite of products! Even, more fun is that it coordinates with June’s Paper Pumpkin Kit. I hope we’ll see Paper Pumpkin coordinating with catalog products again in the future.

WMBB Collage

To make the word, “Wish” sturdy on the top card, I adhered 3 of the die cuts together. I put the adhesive sheets onto Lovely Lipstick card stock then cut the dies out. This made it really easy to adhere them together. This sturdiness will help it get through the mail in better shape. It also gives added dimension to the card. I used the mini Stampin’ Dimensionals to pop the word up and adhere it to the card.

The word “Wish” on the bottom right card was stamped with Versa Mark then heat embossed with the new In-Color, Lovely Lipstick Stampin’ Emboss powder. After it cooled for a minute, I used the dotted word stamp to to apply versa mark and use Gold Stampin’ Emboss powder, then heat embossed it. In person, it is much more obvious. The candle embellishment is new to the catalog as well.

The above collage is June’s Paper Pumpkin kit with a list of the catalog’s coordinating products.  I pretty much stuck to the instructions with these first two cards. I’m thinking I will probably change it up a bit when I do the remaining cards.

This suite of gorgeous products is easily one of my favorites to play with! I was asked to make some samples for my upline’s team event, most of these were made for that event.

The flowers are really easy to fussy cut out of this gorgeous DSP. I used framelits from the Sweet Cake set and the Natures Roots set for all the black leaves on two of the cards. It’s hard to see in the picture but the white bricks are with the Shimmery White Embossing Paste. It’s so much prettier in person. And the new Glitter Enamel Dots…divine colors…love ’em!

I just couldn’t resist pulling out my April Paper Pumpkin Stamp Set again when I got the new Sea of Textures stamp set. I hope you’ll agree they are a good match for each other. I even snuck a little Magical Mermaid in there too! I just had to play with that cute little anchor some more! And what about that school of fish?? SOOOO cute!!

My ladies had a choice between the card below or the top far left card above at my Card Buffet this month. I love all the pieces from the Sea of Textures set…I still have a few I haven’t used yet. I make instructions like you see below for my events. The ladies find it helpful.

I love making favors…there are so many possibilities. I used the 5 new In-Colors for my Catalog Launch Party recently. Then I used 3 of them again for my Card Buffet Class. I love these bright cheerful colors!

Here’s a peek at the fun we had Wednesday night at my Catalog Launch Party!

Most of the time when you are making treat projects, it’s a mass production process. Below you can see how I work when mass producing. It takes less time to do the same task repeatedly until you are finished with it, rather than going back and forth for all the elements of the projects.

I hope you ladies that came to my events, enjoyed your treats!

This bundled set is already one of my favorites…I just want to sit on those benches with those flower filled gardens surrounding me. I can also imagine a cup of coffee…or a glass of wine in my hand. Maybe by myself for some quiet moments or with my hubby for some relaxation…

Scroll down if you want to see the bench…swing bench…I sit on occasionally in my back yard!

WMSitting Pretty Collage

You can’t really see it in the picture but the wood bench has more depth than the rest of the elements on this card. Below is a simple tutorial, so you can try this out and see what you think. The “wrought iron” bench is heat embossed…with Stampin’ Up!’s new Black Embossing Powder…boy am I glad to have that back!

I was selective in taking pictures, mostly in our backyard. Our gardens are in bad need of some love. I haven’t touched it since Fall of 2016. I was out all last year with a back injury that ended in surgery last August. It wasn’t until just a couple weeks ago that I thought I might be able to garden again…maybe even this summer! My husband has had frozen shoulder for about the same period of time as my back. Needless to say, our garden could use some sprucing up but there are still some really pretty things growing as you can see. And there is my arbor swing…I love sitting there on a warm summer night.

Paper Pumpkin MAY18

Being a lover of all things floral, it’s out of my comfort zone to do a card with a lot of straight lines. I just had to add something to the card  with plaid. I went to the stamps from the new “Rooted in Nature” Bundle to solve my “too many lines” problem. I thought I was going to like the leaves the best but the one with the pine trees stole my heart!  The card on the lower right side got a little covering of the DSP (Designer Series Paper), called Nature’s Poem in that same suite of products. (Pages 142-144 in the new Annual Catalog) I hadn’t intended to use the dsp on these cards, but when I dropped my inked stamp onto one of my perfectly stamped cards…I did what any good stamper does, I covered it up, lol.

June’s Paper Pumpkin kit coordinates with the Broadway Bound Suite on page 69 of the annual catalog!
