Stamping Handmade Hugs

When you can't hug in person, send a Handmade Hug you created, with Stamps, Paper & Ink!

March 5 2018

Sale-A-Bration just keeps giving…have you seen the newest release of SAB? This Bundle is so cute! The Basket Weave embossing folder just couldn’t be cuter, mine is going to get a good workout for sure.

I love to color, so it’s hard for me to not color this adorable basket of flowers, but as you can see they don’t have to be colored to be pretty. The copper heat embossed basket is so pretty with the copper foil backing it up. Best of all it was FREE with my purchase of $100, level 2 SAB. The good news is that the Basket Weave Textured Impressions Embossing Folder  will be available for purchase in the 2018-2019 catalog…urgent news, however…until March 31st, will be the only time the Blossoming Basket stamp set will be available.

If you would like to order any of these products, I would be happy to be your demonstrator, if you don’t already have one. Just click on the products you would like and it will take you to my store! All the products for each of these cards are posted below.

If you have a question about products, technique or just want to leave a comment or suggestion, please leave it in the comment box below all the products, and I will get back to you.

Please remember to use the Hostess Code at checkout!

I don’t have a Big Shot, and I wonder if these thicker folders will work in other brands of die cut machines. Do you happen to know?

I would think so. You just have to use only one cutting plate. For the Big Shot I use the platform, the folder then one cutting plate. Also, you may want to spritz your paper with water so the paper fibers don’t break up. Which machine do you have?

I have a Cuttlebug. It sounds like it would work. I’ve been a bit afraid to try the thicker folders but I love the detail they give. I know I bought a wider one once and it just barely goes through. Six inches is the max width it will accept.

I measured one of the larger thick folders and it’s 6 1/16″…so I’m not sure if that will go through. I was thinking about the thickness, not the width. They’re not all that big though. The catalog says 6″ though…do you know someone that has one you can try and see if it will go through?

I was more concerned about the thickness too…. didn’t know it might be a titch too wide as well. I have heard of people trimming the folders if needed. Hate to do that! I can ask around about the folders and see if one of my stamp pals has one. I just figured it might be safer to avoid that type of folder, but disappointing if I like the design. Maybe some day I’ll invest in a Big Shot!

I thought about that too, trimming the folder. I have a guilotine paper cutter that could probably do that. Well, if you do decide to get a Big Shot, the best way would be to buy the Starter Kit from SU!…(basically join as a demonstrator), because you wouldn’t have to pay S&H plus you would get another $26 in product for $99. If you joined before March 31st, (during Sale-A-Bration) you would also get two stamp sets, ANY two stamp sets. You would get a 20% discount for at least three months, longer if you decided to stick with it. There’s no obligation with joining and it’s the best deal Stampin’ Up! offers.
If you don’t mind, let me know what you find out from your friends about the 6″ x 6″ folders, if they can go through the Cuttlebug…I’m sure I will have other customers ask!

I do have one of the 6 inch folders and it just barely clears, but it does. It’s the birch trees folder. I loved it so much I took a chance on it and it worked. So it will work with the standard thickness 6″ wide folder.
I was actually a demonstrator for a time way back when…. my demo number was in the low 200s, so you can probably imagine how long ago that was!

I just held the birch trees folder next to the Cable Knit folder and Pinewood Planks folders, and the cable knit and Pinewood planks folders are a smidge larger width wise but not the other way. It looks like you could put it in sideways.

Wow, you must’ve gotten in on the ground floor, my demo number is 7 digits long!! I’ve been a demo for 11 years, but I did it as a hobbyist until last year. We’re fairly new empty nesters so it’s a good time for me to pursue this as a business now. Last year was a slow start for me, as I was down with a back injury, but post surgery I’m doing so much better! I’m just starting to build a team, I have 3 right now. Two are hobbyists, enjoying the discount and one wants to have a part time business and is close to getting her products at 25% off! If you ever decide to try it again, or you just want the discount, I’d love to have you on board!

I wish you lived closer so you could come to my events! I’m hoping by the end of the year I’ll be doing videos, so people can participate that way. I’m trying to get my foundational functions down before I add another new technology.
