This weeks product spotlight: Dashing Deer

This reindeer, actually, there are 3 thinlit die cuts and 4 deer stamps in this set…all of them make for many possibilities with this set. This card is going to go to a very dear…haha…no pun intended…friend, that I worked along side in a particular church ministry for many years. She and her husband have my deep respect and this sentiment is spot on for both  her and her husband. 1A DD WM Collage

Card measurements:

  1. Tranquil Tide Card Base  8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″ scored at 4 1/4″ and folded
  2. Joyous Noel DSP 5″ X 3 13/16″
  3. Copper Foil 4 1/8″ X 2 15/16″
  4. Shimmery White cs 3 15/16″ X 2 3/4″
  5. Deer is stacked, bottom layer is Soft Suede, top is copper glimmer paper from Joyous Noel Glimmer Paper (I used an Adhesive Sheet to stack the deer)
  6. I used dimensionals to raise the copper foil matted piece and to raise the deer.

It’s hard to see here…I needed to get a better camera angle… but there are two reindeer stacked here. I think I only did two here but I often do three die cuts when I’m stacking them. A good friend of mine showed me how to do this and I use this technique all the time. It gives a little more dimension, but the stability also helps it get through the mail better. I used Soft Suede Card Stock for the reindeer base.1A DD stacking TIP WM Collage

Here is my first card from the Snowflake Showcase offer…available starting November 1st…tomorrow, until Nov 30th…unless it sells out before. I made an almost identical one with the stamps from this set that we’ll be making at my November 13th Card Buffet.

This weeks product spotlight: Dashing Deer

This is only a small sampling of the stamps and thinlits that come in this beautiful bundle.  I’ve made a few more cards with this set that I’ll be posting this week. I may make some of the catalog samples too, it’s always fun to see those in person.1aWMdd1 Collage

I used the Stamparatus so I could get a deep color of Soft Suede since I was stamping on DSP. Next, I dabbed some of the Copper Shimmer Paint right over the residual soft suede ink using a sponge dauber…I’m happy with the result! Here’s some general instructions:

Spotlight on Holiday Card Kits this week

What a fun project to do with friends, your kids, your grand kids or even just for some “me” time! You can do these with your own stamp sets…all of us stampers have something in our “stash” that would fit, maybe with a little ingenuity…or you can purchase the stamp set Sincerely Santa

WMSSTags Collage

For me, half the fun of giving a gift is to make it look pretty. These tags certainly will do that!

I used my new Take Your Pick tool for this project. I LOVE it, and it’s super easy to pick up sequins, glue dots and I even used it to remove some misaligned dsp! Love!

Here’s some helpful hints for one of the tags. For the most part these are pretty easy  to see the pictures and recreate them.

Spotlight on Holiday Card Kits this week

Stampin’ Up! had everything I needed to make this Red Distressed Card Tin cute as can be! It is holding 20 Timeless Tiding Cards, and I could easily squeeze in probably 5 more cards.

1aWMb3

I think I’m going to keep the cards we receive this year in one of these tins. I might buy a few more for future years…

Here’s a couple tips for how I made this tin. If you have any questions, please feel free to leave one in the comment section below.

Spotlight on Holiday Card Kits this week

Stampin’ Up! has beautiful easy to put together Card kits for Christmas. The three Holiday kits are linked at the bottom of this blog, and I will be featuring another one this week. This is the Timeless Tidings Project Kit.  You should see this in person, they are even more beautiful! Pretty gold and green rhinestones add just the right amount of sparkle.1aWM1

The envelopes are printed on the inside…didn’t get a picture of that but they can be seen in my store HERE.  The envelopes are edged with pretty gold leaf, adding to the already elegant cards.

Timeless Tidings

I’m going to be doing some Craft Fairs this holiday season, and I’m making the cards and putting them in the Red Distressed Card Tin. I will also be selling the  kits for card makers that wish to put the cards together themselves. Here’s a little sneak peak at Wednesday’s Blog post…

Instructions to make these cards come with the kit. Stamp Set is sold separately.  This is a fast way to make handmade cards for loved ones.

October 18, 2018,

I LOVE LOVE how this butterfly turned out! I just inked my butterfly stamp in Pumpkin Pie, spritzed with water and stamped it on Shimmery White Card Stock.   The background leaves are another beautiful pattern from the Delightfully Detailed Laser-Cut Specialty Paper.

5WMb4

Again, I sponged the Multi-purpose Liquid glue onto the back of the laser-cut paper.

Here’s the “How to”

1. Card base is  5 1/2″ X 11″ of Soft Suede, scored at 4 1/4″

2. The Detailed paper is trimmed to 3 1/2″ X 5″

3. The Basket Weave Embossed Crumb Cake cs is cut to 2 1/4″ X 3 7/8″, (cut after embossing).

4. The sentiment is stamped with Soft Suede and is on Very Vanilla cs and cut to 3/4″ X 3 1/4″.

5. I used Dimensionals for the sentiment and the butterfly, but I wanted the butterfly to pop out more so I stacked the Dimensionals two high.

If you are looking for and don’t already have a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator, I would happy to be yours! I’m happy to answer product and technique questions.  If I know, I’ll tell you the answer. If I don’t know, I’ll find you the answer!

I heat embossed the butterfly on watercolor paper with Basic Black embossing powder, then I watercolored it with reinkers.

2WMb10

These are some of my favorite colors…Gorgeous Grape and Coastal Cabana. The Crushed Curry compliments them both.

To glue the DELIGHTFULLY DETAILED LASER-CUT SPECIALTY PAPER

onto the card base, I just sponged on multi-purpose glue, being careful to not damage or bend the laser-cut paper.

I cut two Coastal Cabana words and glued them together, then I offset and glued the double thick “Celebrate” onto a one layer Basic Black, “Celebrate”.

This stamp set definitely brings me joy! I hope it brings you joy too! The card layout is a past Prize Patrol Challenge from my upline’s Demo group. One of the many perks of being a Demonstrator…PRIZES!! I missed the deadline for the Prize Patrol, but I really wanted to make a card with this pretty layout.

1 WM12

Card “How to”: (All products are pictured and linked below)

1. Start with a 4 1/4″ X 11″ piece of Old Olive Card Stock scored and folded in half.

2. I started with two 5 1/2″ X 4 1/4″  pieces of Designer Series Paper.  I cut both pieces of dsp at the same time, not measuring, just eyeing how much I wanted to cut off the corner. I checked to make sure I had enough room for the sentiment. Then I trimmed the top layer piece to 5/8″ wide.

3. I adhered both pieces of DSP to the card base, then I ran Suite Season Specialty Washi Tape along the bottom trim piece of dsp, then I glued an 1/8″ strip of Merry Merlot Joyous Noel Glimmer Paper.

4. I stamped “JOY” on a Very Vanilla Stitched Circle, then layered that onto a Real Red Stitched Circle.

5. I topped off the stitched circles with an All Is Bright Christmas Tree Paperclip with a piece of Cherry Cobbler Festive Farmhouse Cotton Twine. Stuck some dimensionals on it and adhered it to the card. Done!

October 10th 2018,

This weeks featured stamp set: Dandelion Wishes

I think this darling jeans pocket is so cute and looks even cuter surrounded by dandelions. It is from the Pocketful of Sunshine stamp set and Pocket Framelits.

1aWM6

This is a pretty straight forward card. Stamp the Whisper White mat in Bermuda Bay and Garden Green.

c1 Collage

Stamp the pocket, then the decorative stitching, then cut with pocket framelit. Snip the tabs off of the pocket then adhere it to the card.

c2 Collage

Stamp the sentiment and punch it out.

I hope this card either inspires you to send someone you love a handmade card, or to sit down and give yourself a little creating time…so you can rejuvenate!

October 8th 2018,

This weeks product spotlight: Dandelion Wishes

I’m so excited to be starting another stamp class…Deb’s Card Class, at Heritage Pantry in Dixon! First class is October 17th.  Everyone will make 8 cards, 4 designs, 2 each. This is one of the cards.

1aWM2

I like to use Post-it note tape so the framelit doesn’t move while cutting it out in the Big Shot. I’ve tried other removable tapes but I like the Post-it Note tape best. I get it on Amazon, you can buy it  HERE.
