Just a quick post here to show you some of the stamping fun, we’re having at my Card Buffet Class! WMAPRIL CB 2018

These are 3 of the 6 cards my ladies got to choose from. The other 3 will be in next weeks blog post.

I’m sorry for such a short post. My husband was just diagnosed with Lymphoma and our lives have become chaotic and I’m not functioning as well as I usually do. We think he is going to be fine, but it’s going to be a rough road for awhile.

I hope these note cards either inspire you to send someone you love and care about a quick note, or to sit down and give yourself a little creating time…so you can later send someone a quick note.

If you are looking for and don’t already have a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator, I would happy to be yours! I’m happy to answer product and technique questions.  If I know, I’ll tell you the answer. If I don’t know, I’ll find you the answer! I would be thrilled if you left a comment, question or suggestion in the comments section below all the products.

Now that we have 8 people in our immediate family, we group all of our birthdays into 3 events per year. The “boys” Curtis, Cyle  and Zach are all in February and March. So we do a Winter bday celebration with them. Our Spring bday celebration includes Stephanie’s April bday and Brian and Lindsay’s May bday’s. The Fall bday’s are mine in September and Courtney’s in October. With work and social schedules, it works better to narrow it down to 3 celebrations each year.

These are the cards I made for my sons, can you guess which card goes with which son? We celebrated at the best burger place EVER…Burger Saloon in Woodland, Ca. They have about 30 burgers to choose from…we have not been disappointed yet!

This is not the first time we’ve seen Zach eat a burger with everything but the kitchen sink on it! And, Yes, he finished it…not to mention the fries he ate too! And don’t let that “sourpuss” look fool you on Cyle’s face, it’s a game he has always played with his Mom, and now with me, lol! He is a kind-hearted, would take the shirt off his back for a friend, kind of person. The photo bombers are Stephanie, who is sitting beside my son…the one with the chesire cat grin…(and I might add, just as mischievious as the chesire cat, lol). Across from her is Lindsay, our daughter, (Zach’s wife). Courtney, our oldest daughter, (Cyle’s wife), missed the photo bomb opportunity. She’s the one with long blond hair in the bottom right photo.

These are the cards we made at my March Card Buffet. This is how a Card Buffet works; everyone can do any 6 cards they wish. They can do one of each, two cards in 3 different designs, all 6 in the same design…whatever combination they like! They can even buy extra card kits to stamp. It makes it easy to customize your choices for the cards you need to send to friends and family.

WMWP MarCB

The Cross card could have been used for Easter, Sympathy, Encouragement, Baptism… I offered a lot of different sentiments for the inside of the cross card to be sure everyone had one that worked for them. Which is your favorite? Which one’s would you have chosen if you’d have come to the class? I’m not sure which is my favorite…maybe the Bubble Over…or the Marina Mist Lovely Wishes in the center…hmmm, hard to decide…they were all fun to design and make 🙂

I blog about a month in advance, it’s less stressful for me. The collage below are pics taken at the February Card Buffet. I love these ladies, they are so much fun!! The lady in the top photo on the right, I’ve known since I was 15 years old!!! Her name is Marleen, one of the sweetest persons you could ever meet! We grew up together and our kids grew up together, this girl has seen me through thick and thin! I can’t imagine where I’d have ended up without her. Not pictured is my friend Kristine, she helps me at each Card Buffet, I seriously could not do this without her. She is a very good friend and helped me so much when I was down with my back injury. In fact, she takes all the photos, too! We watch the Walking Dead with her and her husband…I know, creepy…but it really is a good story!!

The bottom left photo, the woman on the right is Jeanne, I’ve known her since my kids were just toddlers! Her daughter used to babysit my kids. She’s a very special friend of mine too, always supportive, loyal and fun to stamp with!  Across from her is Cathy, we’ve been stamping together forever! She makes some really beautiful and complex cards! Some of the rest of the women I’ve known for quite awhile, and some are new stamping buddies. Each one is a joy to be around and they make my events so fun!!

It’s so funny how sometimes one of the new stamp sets just doesn’t trigger any creativity…until you see a card someone else has made. Does that happen to you? This was one of them for me…I’m not sure if I even noticed it was in the Occassion Catalog!

WMBB Collage

I was at Onstage,(the biannual Stampin’ Up! conference for Demonstrators), and one of the Demonstrators presented this stamp set with several really cute cards. I knew right then and there, I would have to play with this set!

This set has a lot of great sentiments to go with it, mostly birthday greetings. I used the “STILL SUSPICIOUSLY YOUNG LOOKING, I SEE” stamp for a card I made for a friend that just turned 65 but looks 50…or less.  I’ve used the sentiments from this set on non-Bird Banter cards that I’ve made.

I used the masking technique on several of these cards. Here’s an example of masking on a card that I didn’t put in the above collage. I just stamp the image on some full-sticky Post-it notes. Then I fussy-cut right on, or just inside the line of the image. Then I have several masks that I can use for different cards. The mask is usually re-usable.

One of my newest team members has partnered with me to host a class at our local Fuddruckers. We had 5 women show up, and a bunch of interested women! We’re so excited about spreading the love of stamping! We booked Fuddruckers for the rest of the year! It will usually be the third Thursday of the month. My event schedule can be found on my website:  HERE

These are two of the four cards we made at our first BINGO-Stamp-A-Stack Card Class! I designed these two and Liz designed two really cute cards. Each person made two of each of the four designs. Halfway through the evening we played our first game of BINGO! This was one of the prizes!! Oh yeah!! We gave away another stamp set to the winner of the second game of BINGO at the end of the night! The ladies loved it!! We also have a door prize give away and a Bring a Friend/Place an order drawing!!

We got just a couple pictures of our event. How cozy, the room has a fire place and log cabin feel. All the ladies commented about how much fun they had! We had fun too! We’ll try to remember to get a picture of the two of us together next time!

I would love to have these planters hanging in my yard and house! The trouble is, that real ones take time and attention, which wanes with me in short order. Not because I mind doing it…it’s just remembering to water them. I am definitely a proponent of automatic watering.

WMHG Collage

These gorgeous potted plants, get colored…or not…and hang delicately like that forever! And how about that Basket Weave texture? Did I say I’m going to wear out this Basket Weave embossing folder? Well, I’m gonna, for sure.

With the aid of my handy dandy Stamparatus, I stamped all of the hanging planter images three times. It gives them all a much stronger color, which I am pleased with! Whether you choose to color these images or not, they make for a very beautiful card.

Here’s a quick tip, frequently when I am cutting die cuts, I just fill up the paper with other thinlits and framelits. That way I have a bunch on hand and don’t always have to go cut the ones I need.

Sale-A-Bration just keeps giving…have you seen the newest release of SAB? This Bundle is so cute! The Basket Weave embossing folder just couldn’t be cuter, mine is going to get a good workout for sure.

I love to color, so it’s hard for me to not color this adorable basket of flowers, but as you can see they don’t have to be colored to be pretty. The copper heat embossed basket is so pretty with the copper foil backing it up. Best of all it was FREE with my purchase of $100, level 2 SAB. The good news is that the Basket Weave Textured Impressions Embossing Folder  will be available for purchase in the 2018-2019 catalog…urgent news, however…until March 31st, will be the only time the Blossoming Basket stamp set will be available.
