Stamping Handmade Hugs

When you can't hug in person, send a Handmade Hug you created, with Stamps, Paper & Ink!

December 17, 2018

I had lots of “leftover” die cuts, colored snowmen and such, so I used up a lot of it making these Wine Gift Bags. I’m happy with how they turned out and I was able to sell some of them at my last Christmas Season Craft Fair this past weekend.

It would be fun to do a class where everyone can make these…next year, what do you think?? Would you like a class like that?

This second set of wine bags, I used the Dashing Along DSP, which has been one of my favorite DSP’s from this Holiday Catalog. What’s your favorite Holiday dsp?

December 12, 2018,

Love these sweet ladies, they’re so fun to hang out with and make cards!

Since it’s Christmas, I thought it would be fun to have an extra Door Prize! I gave each of the Calendars first and the big prize was the tin of Sincerely Santa Gift Tags!! That was so fun to see the excitement of the winner, Linda!! I love that other women are as gaga about stamping as I am!! I was happy with the tag I made for the gift tin. I just fussy cut one of the images from the Santa’s Workshop Specialty DSP, used some stickers from the Memories and More Sincerely Santa Cards and the enamel shapes from that same suite of products. It was fun and easy!!

December 5, 2018,

I saw some wine tags, recently…the kind that has a hole at the top that slips over the neck of the wine bottle, they were so cute! I planned to make some of those, and I still will, but I wanted to make some Wine Gift Bags first. You could also put Sparkling Cider or whatever your drink of choice is. I’ll be selling these at a Holiday Craft Fair this weekend.

Scroll down if you’d like to see some tips on how I made the Glimmer/Pool Party snowflake front of the bag.

Here are some tips…

Sizes of wine gift bags vary a little bit, so cutting dimensions would vary. Trust yourself, cut a little bigger than you think you want and trim down from there! You can do it!

The ladies that go to my monthly Card Buffet will get to choose between all these cute snowmen…and woman…or they could do all 3 as 3 of their card choices! These cards are quick and cute!

1aWMdeccb1

Here’s the “How To”

  1. I used the large cards from the Memories & More Cards & Envelopes from the 2018 Holiday Catalog…Quick!
  2. I cut a 4″ X 6″ pc of “Santa’s Workshop Specialty DSP”, & adhered it to the card base.
  3. I cut a 3″ X 4″ pc of Shimmery White card stock, & stamped the big rectangle from “Swirly Frames” stamp set in Garden Green, then trimmed close to the frame with scissors.
  4. I stamped the snowmen and sentiment with Memento Ink and colored them with Stampin’ Blends, then adhered to the card.
  5. I cut 24″ of Garden Green Bakers Twine and tied as shown in the picture…Done, Easy!

Another simple but beautiful Christmas card…it practically made itself! These Gold and Silver Foil cards and envelopes are such a festive start for a Christmas Card, a New Years Card, Wedding or Anniversary Cards. I’m planning to get at least one more package of each before they retire on January 2nd.

1awmcb1

And here is how simple it really is…

  1. Put adhesive sheet onto back of Silver and/or Gold Glimmer paper and cut the word “Christmas” using the “Merry & Bright Bundle” thinlit on your Big Shot.
  2. Cut the “Dashing Along DSP” to 4 1/4″ X 3″ and adhere to center of card base.
  3. Stamp “Merry” on Stitched Shape Oval, (largest one).
  4. Adhere stamped oval to card front center.
  5. Peel off adhesive back, lightly lay “Christmas” thinlit on card.  When it is positioned how you want it, put a piece of paper over it and rub firmly with your bone folder to adhere it securely.

I rarely stamp directly onto Designer Series Paper but this design lends itself well to that technique, I thought. This is a very simple and quick card to complete.

This is how I recommend stamping the holly leaves, it works out perfectly!

Spirited Snowmen have several adorable images, cute, fun and sweet! I’m happy with the coloring on this snowpeople couple. I’m loving having more Stampin’ Blends to play with, it helps to have more options for shading. Even if you just straight color with these markers…not try to cast shadows or shade with them…they look great. They’re smooth, no dark lines running through your coloring.1aWM2ssCollageThe doilies are leftover from the Sincerely Santa Christmas tag kit, cut in half for this card…Card kits have “leftover” parts fairly often, which is fun!

(Be sure and scroll down to the GIF to see what’s coming in 2019!)

It’s so relaxing to sit and color these sweet little Snowmen. It doesn’t take long either.  I used the Stampin’ Blends, (alcohol based markers)…which are awesome…if you haven’t tried them and you like to color, you’ll definitely want to try these out. 1aWM Collage

The Stampin’ Blend markers don’t leave lines like our classic water based markers do.  Since they are alcohol based, they do bleed through…not to worry, however, we have tons of beautiful dsp to cover that right up! (see middle left hand photo, where I used paper from the Santa’s Workshop Specialty Designer Series Paper)  The “bleeding” quality is what allows the markers to blend so beautifully.  It takes a little bit of practice but you’ll pick it up quickly and be coloring like a pro in no time!
